Privacy Policy
This policy explains how statementconvert handles information when you visit the website, create an account, purchase a plan, or convert a document.
Effective September 22, 2026
1. Who controls your information
statementconvert is the seller, service provider, and data controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy. This means statementconvert determines why and how that information is processed.
2. Information we collect
We collect account information provided through sign-in, such as your name, email address, account identifier, and profile details supplied by your sign-in provider.
When you use the service, we process the files you upload, extracted statement data, filenames, page counts, conversion status, usage history, and generated spreadsheet results. Financial statements may contain personal and financial information about you or others.
We also collect support messages, plan and credit usage, transaction and subscription references, and basic technical information needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service. Payment card details are collected and processed by our payment provider, not stored directly by statementconvert.
3. How we use information and our legal bases
We use information to authenticate users, process documents, produce downloadable results, maintain conversion history, administer subscriptions and credits, provide support, prevent misuse, improve reliability, and comply with legal obligations.
We process account details, uploaded documents, conversion data, and subscription information when necessary to perform our contract with you and provide the service you requested. We process security, fraud-prevention, troubleshooting, and service-improvement information based on our legitimate interests in protecting and operating statementconvert. We process information where needed to comply with legal obligations, including accounting and dispute requirements. Where consent is required by law, we ask for it and you may withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
We do not use uploaded financial statements to advertise to you or sell their contents.
4. Service providers and Paddle
We share information only as needed with providers that support sign-in, hosting and data storage, document processing, payment processing, communications, security, and service operations. These providers process information for the relevant service they provide and may operate in other countries.
Paddle.com is our online reseller and Merchant of Record. We share the information needed for Paddle to process sales, manage subscriptions and payments, calculate and remit applicable taxes, issue invoices, provide purchase support, and handle returns. Paddle processes payment and billing information under its own privacy terms.
We may share relevant information with professional advisers such as legal and accounting providers when necessary.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business reorganisation where appropriate safeguards apply.
5. Storage, retention, and deletion
Your uploaded documents and conversion results remain associated with your account so you can access your history. You can delete a statement and its results from the History area. Some records may be retained for security, fraud prevention, billing, dispute resolution, backup, or legal compliance.
Other account and transaction records are kept only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here or required by law. You may contact us to request account or personal-data deletion.
6. Security
We use access controls and account-scoped storage designed to protect your information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so you should use a secure account and upload only documents you are authorised to process.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or object to or restrict certain processing. You may also cancel your subscription through the available billing controls. Contact us to make a privacy request; we may need to verify your identity first.
8. Age requirement
statementconvert is intended only for users aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly offer the service to children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. The effective date above shows when this version took effect. Material changes will be communicated through the service or another appropriate channel.
